We recently spoke to the gorgeous Maggie Robinson, photographer and photography training guru – about what she is bringing to her class at Click Live – How to Make Money From Family Photography, which she is teaching alongside Nina Mace.

Maggie says…

ClickLive is just around the corner, so I wanted to shed some light on my training topic, “How to make money from family photography.” It can be a bit ambiguous, especially in times like these where leads are scarce and monetising even the best clients requires effort. Remember the simpler days of 2018? We were all so busy making money we hardly had time to spend it. but times are changing and we need to change with them. Paraphrasing the world renowned photographer, Sanjay Jogia:
“Evolve or evaporate”.

But what’s this class all about? Is it just another version of my IPS training? Not at all. I created this workshop with a specific photographer in mind and tested it with a small group of students in London who absolutely loved it. So here we are, bringing it to you. And it’s likely to blow your mind.

Like all my training, this one will be packed with ideas, delivered at lightning speed. Because let’s face it: making money from photography requires a lot of moving parts to work together. There’s no one magic solution to improve our entire business.

Nina Mace will teach you how to attract the clients you need, knowledge that’s essential for making the most of what I’ll teach you: how to maximise the value of those clients and keep them coming back for more.

I’ll show you how to retain your good clients and keep them from seeking out the competition. I’ll also talk about how to elevate your studio’s image on a budget, even if it’s home-based. We’ll discuss topics that may make us cringe, like profit versus turnover and which sessions are the most profitable. You may be surprised it’s not always the highest ticket ones.

Furthermore, I’ll share tips on how to diversify your newborn, sitter, and cake smash galleries on a budget without jeopardising the upmarket feel and while ensuring your images remain unique to your clients and their story.

I’ll demonstrate first hand the power of storytelling and consultation in creating personalised images that leave my clients speechless and you will hopefully get inspired in terms of what you could do for your own customers.

For those looking to expand their offering, I’ll touch on introducing headshots into your family sessions and family sessions into your newborn and baby repertoire.

I’ll show you how to make your studio appear more upscale on a budget, with a few easy to implement tricks. Even if it’s home-based.

I’ll share tips on adding variety to your newborn, sitter, cake smash and family galleries without breaking the bank, making your images unique yet easy to shoot and edit.

I’ll teach you how to build trust with your social media posts and normalise wall art purchases in your clients’ eyes, making it a natural part of their journey.

We’ll cover everything from selling wall art collections to making sneak peeks work for you as a marketing tool. All of it whilst using the skills you already have and tools you already know.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It will be an intense training session, so if you’re looking for a cozy catch-up, this isn’t it. But if you’re ready to take your business to the next level, join me for a journey towards higher profits and a more refined service.
